MAKE SENSE OF THE SYMPTOM
Vehicle
diagnostics.
Check engine light, another warning or a change in how the car runs? Request vehicle diagnostics at OBC Automotive in Vernon and describe when the symptom appears.

You do not need to name the fault. Begin with what you have noticed.
DETAILS BEFORE ASSUMPTIONS
Describe
the signal.
A check engine light is a starting point for assessment, not a diagnosis by itself. Include the dashboard message as you see it, what has changed and the circumstances. A new sound or an intermittent concern is worth describing even without a warning light.
- Message
- What does the dashboard show? Write down the message or describe the light.
- Timing
- When did you first notice it? Does it happen every time or only occasionally?
- Conditions
- Tell the shop when the symptom appears, without trying to reproduce a concern you believe is unsafe.
- Context
- Include your vehicle details and any recent work. Assessment and repair time depend on what is found.
A diagnostic request is a request for review. It does not identify a fault, approve work or promise a completion time.
BEFORE A DROP-OFF IS CONFIRMED
Share the concern.
Let the shop review.
The shop must review your request and confirm arrangements. Diagnosis, parts and the work needed affect completion time. No price or finish time is promised online.
